WOOSTER - Ann L NEILSON, 80, of Wooster, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born December 7, 1929 in Wooster, the daughter of Orris L and Helen M Houser Boyer. She married Allan S. Neilson, Jr. on June 3, 1951. He survives.
Ann was a homemaker and had worked at the Wooster Daily Record as an office clerk. She was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church where she sang for many years in the choir. She had been an adivsor for the Jefferson Pioneer's 4H Club for a number of years, very involved with the Wayne Co. Historical Society as a volunteer and had volunteered at Friendique. She enjoyed gardening and the preservation of fabrics and textiles.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Ronald S. Neilson and a daughter, Barbara (Steve) Grenert both of Wooster; a granddaughter, Stephanie Grenert of Dover, DE and a grandson, Christopher Grenert of Chicago; brothers, Lloyd L. (Margaret) Boyer, Arden D. (Frances) Boyer and Elton D. (Dorothy) Boyer all of Wooster.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. David Wilcox officiating. A private family burial will be held.
Friends will be received at the Funeral Home following the service.
