WOOSTER - Alfred Webner WEYGANDT, 84, of Wooster, passed away Sunday June 6, 2010 in his home.
He was born April 9, 1926 in Wayne County, the son of O.L. and Edith Webner Weygandt.
He was the owner of Weygandt Inc., an International Harvestor Machinery dealership. He enjoyed dismantling old barns, was a horse show judge for 35 years, a 4-H advisor for many years, a member of the Jeromesville Coon Hunters Club and the Tennessee Mountain Curs Club. He was a paratrooper and served the country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Surviving are his children Jeff Weygandt, Early Weygandt, Karla (Joe) Forrer, Sandy (Dennis) Claus all of Wooster, Penny (Ted) Renner of Dalton and Terry (Wayne) Powell of Bend, Oregon; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brothers James (Susie) of Sheboygin Falls, Wisconsin, Harold (Marilyn) of Wooster and Dale (Nancy) of Medina.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dorothy Ward Weygandt on February 16, 2005 whom he married December 24, 1949.
Friends will be received on Thursday evening, June 10, 2010 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin Phipps officiating. Burial will follow in the Reedsburg Cemetery.
